  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, melt the butter in the microwave or on the stovetop.
  • Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar to the melted butter and whisk until well combined.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Stir in the pumpkin puree until everything is well mixed.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
