These soft and tender Cream Cheese Cookies are incredibly easy to make and feature a delicate flavor with a melt-in-your-mouth texture.

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 3/4 cup cake flour

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine softened butter and room temperature cream cheese in a large bowl with an electric mixer.
  3. Beat until creamy and smooth.
  4. Add granulated sugar to the mixture.
  5. Beat for 1 minute until light and fluffy.
  6. Add the egg to the bowl.
  7. Beat until just combined.
  8. Stir in vanilla extract and almond extract.
  9. Beat until fully incorporated.
  10. Add baking powder to the dough.
  11. Gradually add cake flour in three sections.
  12. Mix until just combined after each addition.
  13. Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  14. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190°C).
  15. Lightly flour your hands.
  16. Roll the chilled dough into 1-2 inch balls.
  17. Place cookies on the prepared baking sheet.
  18. Dip the bottom of a cup or glass in flour.
  19. Gently flatten each cookie ball with the floured cup.
  20. Bake for 9-11 minutes.
  21. Remove cookies from the oven when the underside edges are turning golden.

Notes

Ensure butter and cream cheese are at room temperature for a smooth dough.
Chilling the dough for at least an hour is crucial for preventing spread.
Use cake flour for the signature tender texture of these cookies.
Do not overbake; pull them when edges are just golden, even if centers seem soft.
