Prepare a delicious, healthy breakfast in minutes the night before with these four flavorful overnight oats recipes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • ¾ to 1 cup low-fat milk, or dairy-free milk
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (for Maple Brown Sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon light brown sugar (for Maple Brown Sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter (for Peanut Butter Banana)
  • ½ medium banana, sliced into thin pieces (for Peanut Butter Banana)
  • ½ medium apple, chopped into small cubes (for Apple Cinnamon)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (for Apple Cinnamon)
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter (for Almond Blueberry)
  • ¼ cup fresh blueberries (for Almond Blueberry)

Instructions

  1. Combine oats, milk, and chia seeds in a 16 ounce mason jar.
  2. Stir until combined.
  3. Add your desired flavor mix-ins (maple syrup and brown sugar, peanut butter and banana, apple and cinnamon, or almond butter and blueberries).
  4. Stir ingredients again until well incorporated.
  5. Cover the jar securely with the top.
  6. Refrigerate overnight (or at least 5 hours).
  7. Serve cold.
  8. Alternatively, reheat in the microwave for 1 minute, stirring halfway through, if you prefer warm oats.

Notes

Use old-fashioned rolled oats for the best texture, avoiding instant or quick oats.
Ensure thorough stirring to prevent chia seeds from clumping at the bottom.
Adjust the amount of milk based on your preferred consistency – more for thinner, less for thicker.
Overnight chilling is essential for the oats to fully soften and absorb the liquid.
Feel free to customize with your favorite fruits, nuts, or sweeteners.
