A festive, no-bake holiday treat featuring crispy cereal coated in chocolate and peanut butter, dusted with powdered sugar, and mixed with M&M’s, peanut butter cups, and pretzels.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ cups Christmas M&M's
  • 8 ounce bag mini peanut butter cups
  • 1-2 cups pretzel twists or shapes

Instructions

  1. Place the Rice Chex cereal in a large bowl. Set aside.
  2. Add the semisweet chocolate chips and the creamy peanut butter to a medium microwave-safe bowl.
  3. Microwave the chocolate chips and peanut butter for 30 seconds.
  4. Stir the mixture.
  5. Continue microwaving the mixture in 15-second intervals, stirring after each, until completely melted.
  6. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well-combined.
  7. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal in the large bowl.
  8. Use a spatula to carefully toss the cereal until every piece is completely coated.
  9. Add the powdered sugar and unsweetened cocoa powder to a resealable gallon-sized plastic bag.
  10. Seal the bag and shake to combine the powdered sugar and cocoa powder.
  11. Add the chocolate-coated cereal to the baggie, a little at a time.
  12. Seal the bag, then shake gently to coat the cereal.
  13. Repeat this process until all the cereal is coated in the chocolate sugar mixture.
  14. Spread the coated cereal out in a single layer on a sheet of parchment paper to cool completely.
  15. Once cooled, combine the cereal, Christmas M&M's, mini peanut butter cups, and pretzel twists or shapes in a large bowl.
  16. Serve immediately or store for later.

Notes

Microwave chocolate and peanut butter in short intervals to prevent burning.
Gently toss the cereal with a spatula to avoid crushing.
Add cereal to the sugar bag in batches for an even coating.
Ensure cereal cools completely before adding other mix-ins for best texture.
