A festive and flavorful punch with spiced apple syrup, cranberry, lime, and ginger beer, perfect for holiday gatherings.

  • 4 cups apple cider divided (2 cups chilled)
  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 6 cinnamon sticks
  • 8 star anise
  • ½ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • 2 cups ice
  • 8 cups cranberry juice chilled (100% juice)
  • ¾ cup fresh lime juice
  • 3 cups sparkling apple cider
  • 4 cups ginger beer chilled
  • Frozen cranberries for serving
  • 2 Honeycrisp apples cut into wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Add 2 cups of apple cider, light brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and freshly grated nutmeg to a small 1.5-quart saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Stir until the brown sugar has completely dissolved, which will take about 7-8 minutes.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
  5. Stir in the remaining 2 cups of chilled apple cider.
  6. Allow the spiced apple syrup to cool completely.
  7. Transfer the cooled syrup to an airtight container.
  8. Refrigerate the syrup overnight or for up to 2 days.
  9. When ready to serve, place ice into a large punch bowl.
  10. Strain the chilled spiced apple syrup over the ice in the punch bowl.
  11. Add the chilled cranberry juice to the punch bowl.
  12. Add the fresh lime juice to the punch bowl.
  13. Stir the mixture well to combine.
  14. Pour in the sparkling apple cider.
  15. Pour in the chilled ginger beer.
  16. Gently stir the punch together to combine all ingredients without losing fizz.
  17. Garnish the punch with frozen cranberries.
  18. Garnish the punch with Honeycrisp apple wedges.
  19. Serve the punch over additional ice and enjoy immediately.
