  • 3/4 cup (130g) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup (125g) creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp milk
  • 1-2 drops green gel food coloring
  • Sprinkles of choice

Instructions

  1. Combine pretzels, oats, and cereal in a large bowl.
  2. Mix corn syrup and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Stir continuously until the mixture starts to bubble.
  4. Allow it to bubble for 30 seconds.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat.
  6. Add 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter to the saucepan.
  7. Stir until the peanut butter is fully melted and smooth.
  8. Pour the peanut butter mixture into the bowl with the cereal mixture.
  9. Stir well to coat all dry ingredients evenly.
  10. Grease and line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving an overhang.
  11. Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the prepared dish.
  12. Combine chocolate chips and 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter in a heat-safe bowl.
  13. Microwave for 30 seconds.
  14. Stir the chocolate mixture.
  15. Microwave for another 15-30 seconds until smooth.
  16. Pour the chocolate topping over the peanut butter layer.
  17. Spread the topping evenly.
  18. Shake and tap the pan gently to even out the topping.
  19. Place the pan into the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour to set.
  20. Alternatively, freeze for 20 to 30 minutes to speed setting.
  21. Once set, remove the bars from the pan using the parchment paper overhang.
  22. Run a knife along any unlined sides if needed to loosen.
  23. Make a cut right down the middle of the square to create two rectangles.
  24. Slice each rectangle into 5 triangles to form trees.
  25. Mix powdered sugar and 1 1/2 tbsp milk in a small bowl to make icing.
  26. Add green gel food coloring and mix until combined.
  27. Add 1 tsp of milk at a time if the icing is too thick, until it resembles glue consistency.
  28. Transfer the icing to a piping bag fitted with a small round tip, or a ziplock bag with a snipped corner.
  29. Pipe zig-zag lines onto each Christmas tree.
  30. Top immediately with sprinkles of your choice.
